This song was written, the instrumental track recorded, in 2005 for a women’s conference. Because it fits in with last week’s posts, I thought I’d share it with you.
(The instrumental track was recorded by Steven’s Beard – Jordan Davis, Drew Benson, and Adam Reuther. Thanks, guys.)
Jake Ottinger tweaked the instrument track a bit for me, but it’s still a rough recording, ’cause I added the vocal track myself. ๐
Wow, what a wonderful and powerful testimony! Thank you for sharing your hurts and struggles. Your transparency is what helps all of us to see we are truly not alone in the struggles of the world. I love you dear sister! ๐
That helps, Toni. Sometimes I feel like all I do is whine – which I’ve come to abhor. It used to be the only way I knew to communicate with anyone.
Last week’s posts were God’s lesson to me about whining about “them.” I’m thankful that He helped me to see everything in a new Light! ๐
How’re you two doing?
\o/
Well…. Larry’s back is better in some ways, worse in others. me, I just try cling tightly to the LORD.
Sorry to hear that. Hang on, dear sister!

Any sign of Jesus heading your way? He would be soooo welcome here if He would just show up today! LOL! ๐
Today definitely works for me. You’ll see Him first…being east of me! ๐
\o/
Yea!!!!
You know what they say, you get Whine from Sour Grapes ๐
Your profile picture always made me wonder about your singing! Now I know, and I’m upset that you’ve been holding out on us! What a great testimony and beautiful singing!
{blushing} Awww, thanks!
Hopefully I’m past the Whine stage. ๐

great song… love the lyrics
Thanks, I do too. What a wonderful God who picks up the pieces of what others left of us, and gives us an eternity of being loved…just as we are!

I know how difficult it is to record and then put yourself out into the world this way. I’ve only done that once, with much embarrassment. Great job, great courage.
This is probably the first song I recorded to share the message – not in hopes that I would be liked. That is very freeing, I must say.
The message was so good – our God is so good to give us back the years the locusts have eaten. He rocks my world every day!
Thanks for the encouragement, I truly appreciate it. ๐

Awesome track! Good job! I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to hearing more!
Thanks, Ed. The guys did a great job with the cassette I gave them of a rough piano and voice recording. From that they really showed what they had. ๐
Hopefully there will be more forthcoming. The Lord is beginning to give me songs again…so exciting!

I guess you showed them ๐ So many times we believe the lies of the enemy. Indeed let’s rise above it and live lives that glorify Him!!
Blessings my sister

Thanks. I finally had to get to the place where it wasn’t about “them” or even about “me,” but about making the name of Jesus known.
It’s time for me to stop holding up the tools used to shape me into who I am as the most important thing about me, get up and get busy!
\o/
True. I just did a session on self esteem and someone said this “what others think about me is none of my business”……loved it ๐
Blessings
JC
The vocal track is the least rough of the recordings.
Thanks, Jake. I did it last night at 10!

Tami I can’t actually see your video link….. not sure if it is my problem or yours. Ros
It’s slow loading, I think. I had to hit the refresh circle thingy to see it the first time.

ok thanks
“I believed them.” So easily a cutting word from a person who may not even be that significant in our life can send us spinning. “Let me rise above the lies” is a wonderful catch phrase that is worth catching! Thanks!
Peace
The power of life and death is, indeed, in the tongue. To rise above the lies is my goal.
Thanks for listening.
